Slow Cooker Beef with Broccoli
800 g beef, sliced into strips
250 ml beef broth
150 ml low-sodium soy sauce (e.g., green Kikkoman)
6 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp sesame oil
4 large cloves garlic, minced
1 whole head of broccoli
In the slow cooker, combine the sliced beef, beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Stir everything together, except for the broccoli.
Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
About 10 minutes before serving, cut the broccoli into bite-sized pieces. Boil a pot of water and blanch the broccoli for 2-3 minutes, then drain the water.
Add the blanched broccoli to the slow cooker with the beef and sauce. Stir gently to combine.
Serve the dish hot over steamed rice.
