Roast Turkey Breast
1 turkey breast (about 200-250 g per person)
A few pats of butter
Turkey seasoning
For Serving:
Turkey stuffing
Sweet potatoes with cornflake topping
Green beans with sautéed red onions
Brown gravy or mushroom sauce
Cranberry sauce (optional)
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Lightly grease a cast-iron pot (or any oven-safe pot with a lid) with a bit of butter.
Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels and season generously with the turkey seasoning.
Place the turkey breast in the prepared pot, skin-side up. Cover the pot with its lid.
Place the pot in the preheated oven and roast for about 1 hour.
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature; the turkey is fully cooked when it reaches 72°C.
Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. This helps retain its juices.
While the turkey rests, you can make the gravy using the drippings from the pot for added flavor.
Slice the turkey breast and serve it alongside your favorite sides, such as: Turkey stuffing, Sweet potatoes with cornflake topping and caramelized red onion and green beans.
Serve with brown gravy or mushroom sauce and cranberry sauce on the side.
If you want crispy skin, uncover the pot for the last 15 minutes of cooking.
