Olive- and Cheese Stromboli
2 tsp dry yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 cup water
2 tbsp oil
2 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
500 g all-purpose flour
150 g grated cheese
Half a jar of black olives, chopped
Dissolve the yeast in warm water along with the sugar. Mix with the oil and dry ingredients. Knead the dough and let it rise for 40 minutes.
Roll out the dough into a 30 x 25 cm rectangle and place the cheese and olives in a line down the center. Roll the dough into a log shape and tuck the ends underneath to seal. Let the loaf rise for 30 minutes, then bake at 180°C for 25-30 minutes.
Spray the bread with water before placing it in the oven to create a crispy crust. Let the bread sit for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
