Date Rice Crispies Treats

500 g dates (chopped)

150 g brown sugar

250 g butter

5 cups rice crispies

250-300 g chocolate (melted, I use milk chocolate and a little white chocolate)

Chop the dates finely and heat them in a saucepan with the butter and brown sugar. Cook until the dates soften and blend into a smooth mixture.

Stir in the rice crispies until fully combined with the date mixture.

Spread the mixture evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let it cool.

Once cooled, pour the melted chocolate (milk chocolate with a bit of white chocolate if you prefer) over the top and spread it evenly.

Allow the chocolate to set, then cut into diamond-shaped pieces.
