Corn Dogs
Ingredients:
1 pack of sausages (hot dogs)
10 wooden skewers
Oil for deep frying
For the batter:
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
3 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt and pepper
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp honey
1 egg
1.25 cups buttermilk
Mix the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, sugar, honey, egg, and buttermilk in a bowl. The batter should be thick.
Preheat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 190°C .
Cut each sausage in half and dry them well with paper towels.
Insert a wooden skewer into each sausage half.
Pour the batter into a tall glass, dip each skewered sausage into the batter, ensuring it's fully coated.
Fry the corn dogs for 3-4 minutes or until the batter turns a golden brown color.
Let the corn dogs drain on paper towels.
Enjoy your corn dogs with ketchup and mustard
