125 g sugar

500 g all-purpose flour

120 g margarine (or butter)

2.5 tsp baking powder

1 egg

2 tsp cardamom extract

100 ml (1 dl) milk

Mix all the ingredients together and knead the dough until smooth.

Divide the dough into two parts and roll each into long strips.

Flatten each strip and spread with softened butter, then sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar.

Roll each strip into a log and cut into small spirals or snails.

Place on a baking sheet and bake at 200°C for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
