Braided Bread

2.5 tsp dry yeast

1/2 tbsp sugar

250 ml warm water

1 tsp salt

1 egg

2 tbsp oil

7 dl flour (385 g)

Egg for brushing and sesame seeds

Start by dissolving the sugar and yeast in the warm water. Let the yeast mixture stand for 10 minutes before adding the flour, salt, oil, and egg. Knead the dough until it is smooth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. Take 1/3 of the dough and divide each part into three pieces: three large and three small. Roll each piece into a long "worm." Each strand should be slightly longer than the baking tray. Braid the dough into two braids and place the smaller braid on top of the larger one on a baking paper.

Brush egg white over the braid and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Allow the bread to rise for another 30 minutes and then bake for 35-40 minutes at 200°C.
