Air fryer Popcorn chicken
400 g chicken breasts or thighs
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
A pinch of black pepper
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 dl flour
Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
Set Up the Breading Station:
In the first bowl, whisk the eggs with a fork until well combined.
In the second bowl, combine the flour with the paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and a pinch of black pepper. It’s good to add a little of the spices to the egg mixture as well.
Dip each chicken piece into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated, then transfer it to the flour mixture. Make sure to coat each piece thoroughly.
Preheat your air fryer to 180°C .
Lightly spray the bottom of the air fryer basket with oil. Place the breaded chicken pieces in the basket in a single layer; do not overcrowd the basket. If necessary, cook in batches.
Spray a little oil over the top of the chicken pieces.
Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. To check doneness, pierce the largest piece with a thermometer to ensure it reaches an internal temperature of 70°C .
Serve the crispy chicken bites with brown chicken gravy or tomato ketchup for dipping.
