Advent cookies
300 g flour
250 g butter, softened
150 g sugar
1 egg yolk, reserve the white
1/2 tsp baking soda
Topping:
1 beaten egg white
pearl sugar
chopped almonds
Mix together the flour, softened butter, sugar, egg yolk, and baking soda. Knead well and roll the dough into a log. It's good to use baking paper to wrap the log. The dough log is stored overnight in the refrigerator.
For baking, the log is sliced into thin slices. The beaten egg white is mixed well and brushed on top of each cookie along with sprinkled almonds and sugar.
Bake at 180°C until the edges take on golden color (about 10 minutes).
